Hi all,

The updated estimate for the downtime is that we'll be back online at 9 AM PDT. Sorry for the delays, and thanks again for your patience.

We bounced once as Steam was coming up just after 0900 PDT, as we found a bug which would have prevented us from sustaining the day's normal load. After fixing that, we restarted Stem and we're up to our normal user load for this time of day.

I believe this to be the last visible, negative effect of our server upgrade work. I'm sorry the downtime took a bit longer than we had originally estimated.

We'll be updating the server software this afternoon, at 16:00 - there's no significant outage expected.

We'll be updating the servers again this afternoon @ 16:00 to fix a handful of issues - no significant outage anticipated.

We'll be updating some of the Steam servers today around 16:00 PDT (GMT-0700). Chat, game lobbies, and the community web site will be affected. Content downloads and game play should not be affected. There is no database maintenance scheduled for this update, so the downtime should be short.

Maintenance is done, downtime only lasted a few minutes as expected.

We're having some issues with the servers currently, causing Steam features to be unavailable. We're working on the issue and hopefully it'll be cleared up soon. Sorry for the downtime, and thanks for your patience.

Please note that the TF2 item system will be down today between starting at 1300 PST (GMT-8). Details of the downtime are in the TF2 area.
