any one else notice a performance hit with the new patch

i took a nasty hit from the patch. from an average of 40ish down to the low 30s now. im dipping down into the low teens all the time now.

been a few posts about this already in another thread. I'm in the same boat as you my friend.

tf2 all over again...

This is VERY upsetting.

was the first thing i noticed. Anyone come up with solution or even a temp. fix?

update: I checked my video settings and they were the same as before. I lowered them a bit and found that the game ran smoother. Maybe there was a graphical update with the patch as well?

My ping suddenly went to hell...can't find any server that gives me anything above a 'red bar' post-patch. No idea why...just thought I'd throw it out there

Make sure your video settings didn't get changed. Mine did, and every thing "seems" to be fine at the moment. I just played NM and had no drop in frame rate after fixing my video settings back. I hope this helps.

Most likely servers aren't patched yet. Those which are are probably ones in distant country with different time zones to yours, hence the bad pings.

Happened in Day of Defeat too.

Thought my internet was acting up, turns out everyone's been getting it.

No problem at all, no crashing to desktop and no framerate drop. Gettin' a smooth 70fps, I used to get 60.

Are you saying you have the multi-core rendering setting enabled?

Double check your settings - mine were reset to "recommended" (starred options) with this patch. In my case it underestimates the power of then system, it might be overestimating the systems with the dropped FPS.

I'm rather worried.

My computer only got around the 40s in the first place because my CPU isn't exactly up to date.

Personally, I don't know why you folks are whining about 30s, which I get constantly in REGULAR hordes, but if this patch affects my game which up to now has been running fairly well, I'm gonna be pretty angry.
