Ability to use more than one card to make purchases

I think a handy feature would be the ability to make a purchase using two different cards. Say we have one card that only has a certain amoutn (say $50) and what we are buying is more than $50, well, why not give us the ability to put in a second card to take care of the surpluss charge?

A case in point: I recently recieved a Walmart Visa Gift card (note, this is NOT a Walmart Gift Card, but the Visa card that can be used anywhere, according to the card) for $50 as a belated Christmas present. I want to purchase the THQ Collector's Pack for $99 (I mainly wanted the CoH and Warhammer games, but looking at the value of buying the games individually vs. buying the package, the package is a better deal). I can't, however, because the card only has $50, and Steam won't let me use my normal credit or debit card to take care of the rest of the charge ($49.99). I find this rather annoying...

On a side note, does anybody know how I can get these funds transfered over to my regular bank account?

I don't use multiple cards myself, but I think this would be a good idea. Visa/MC prepaid cards are getting much more common nowadays.

Yeah, I've gotten into the habit of telling people not to get me gift cards when they want to give me money because I hate being restricted to a certain store/amount - why not just give me cold hard cash? Especially since these days I do most of my purchasing via Amazon, and now I'm buying more and more games off of GoG and Steam. I also received a $30 Barnes and Noble gift card, I don't mind getting stuff like that, but...I could only buy three books with that card, while if I had been able to use that money on Amazon, I could have probably bought at least three times as many books. Retail is so expensive these days...

I really want that THQ package because it seems like a great deal, and from the research I've done most of the games are good to great games. I only have two games in that set (CoH and Stalker), and CoH is a pain to patch retail...I'm afraid though that as soon as I buy it it'll be the next weekend deal (especially with Dawn of War II releasing soon).

I also don't normally use multiple cards myself, in fact this is the only time I recall ever having to do that...

/end rant.

Should have thought to buy the THQ pack when it was $75 for the New Year's sale. I bought the ID Super Pack for $34...that was a steal. Best deal since the Orange Box.

OP, what you are suggesting is not a good idea.

Soo... why is it not a good idea? Come on, if you disagree, post why so we can hear your reasoning.

I have some money left over on a card right now. $1.97. The game I want is $2.00......This would be a good idea.

This is an awesome idea. I just got steam for mac, and I bought Europa Universalis 3 on sale for $15.00. They paired it with Hearts of Iron 3, but since I am used to the "Total War" games, I decided to just get EU3. Now, I have 10 bucks left over, and I want to buy another 25.00 visa to get HOI3. I really don't want to pay for a 50 dollar card though.

Is Hearts of Iron 3 good? I've seen previews, but its a different style from Total War. A lot more management. But then again, you get more involved.

That be nice, my current card is .48 off from purchasing Oblivion. Guess I should get a refillable card instead.
