Failed to get steamid

Hello


I bought an earth2160 this week through steam. Downloading and installation wen't fine. But now i have found my self from very annoying broblem. Every time when i try to start earth2160 this error message pop ups:

There was an error authorizing your Earth2160 install and under that first message reads: failed to get steamid .

Error message sugsested me to go earth2160 official bage but the information i founded there didin't help at all. I have uninstalled and then installed again and every time the same error message. I have also tryed to start the client from the game folder whitout sucsess. If i try to start the game from the folder i get this message: game not installed properly please re install the game.


Eh i have to say that i don't really know what is causing the broblem. Can anyone help me to solve this broblem ??.

It's good to see that im not the only one whit this broblem .
sended an email to support at wednesday but haven't gotten any answer yet. They seem to be busy as always. help from the moderator would be apreciated.

Same error, posted a question on the support board, difference here is i deleted the game to re download it and my download isn't starting

EDIT: Scratch the last post its downloading again but still no luck with starting the game

this game is realy not working i bought it because i really like it and i wanna play...

Did a fresh install this morning by disabling my antivirus brogram just to see if it could interfere whit the installation but no luck though. Trying to do fresh install for steam and then download the game again.

edit: doing a fresh steam install and then downloading the game again didin't help.

Oh yes my system spec:

Windows vista home premium 32bit
Amd athlon 64x2 4000+
2gb ddr2 memory
ati sapphire radeon 3870 512mb whit pixel and shaders 4.0 support
160gb hardrive

so your game is working ? if u unninstalled the steam all? whit all the games inside hate that

My system specs as well:

Windows Ultimate x64
Intel Xeon 2.13GHz
4gb DDR2 Memory
Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT 1GB

Same problem as the rest of you guys, come on steam give us a hand.

If there is anyone who have had this exackt broblem before and have managed to solve it please reply to this thread and tell us how you solved it .

yeah tryed that but still get the same error messages. I also tryed to do a fresh install for steam and then install the and verify the cache file but still getting same error messages.

Still struglin to get this game to work. Updated my computer and graphics drivers today just to eliminate the bossiblity that it could be the broblem but no luck on that though still getting same error messages.

zussecks should have created a little better support steps for this kind of broblem because it dosen't mention anything about: failed to get steamid but it does mention this: There was an error authorizing your Earth2160 install.

Another one for the 'me too' list.

Haven't played this game in a while, thought I would give it another go, and got the 'steamid' message.

Don't think I've played it since I rebuilt my system a few months back.
