April 9th?

I was looking on the official site for The Last Remnant, and it says the release is March 24th. Why do North American Steam users have to wait until April 9th, the Japanese release date for the PC version? This isn't a complaint, I'm willing to wait the extra couple weeks to get the Steam version, I'm just asking out of curiosity.

It's the publisher who sets the date.

If they wnt to release it retail on March 24th and digital on April 9th Steam has no say over it.

AFAIK the PC version of the Last Remnant is supposed to come out March 20th in Europe, March 24th in North America, and April 9th in Japan. What I'm having trouble understanding is why the game isn't released on Steam at the same time the PC version is released in each region.

I guess I'm just sore that I won't be able to play it over my Spring break unless I cancel my Steam preorder and buy the physical disk.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't the game supposed to be activated on steam? Meaning you would buy a physical copy on the 20th and then add it to an existing account. Or am I missing something?

I hadn't heard that, but it sounds interesting. If thats the case I may cancel my Steam pre-order and get the boxed version. Can anyone confirm this?

Of ocurse, if Steam is the DRM used, there is also the chance that it won't unlock for any region until the 9th of April, which would mean that even boxed copies won't work until they unlock on Steam.

Your best bet would be to try and ask the publisher. Good luck with that!

wel i am wondering how the activation works though, since in belgium you can buy it in official stores since today. And i cant say i'm to happy lol, its like giving a little kid a sweet and telling him he cannot eat it nomather wat. Gah, why bother locking a single player game in the first place. That + i dont get the entire you need internet to play a single player game ether, should be optional to use steam imo.

Anyway, any news on the 9 april beeing worldwide or just japan, suposidly its out officially for entire europe the 20th, but since here it says 9 april i'm a tad worried lol.

Got my Euro version from gameplay today, on install Steam says this game is not yet released. I hope to god they don't make people wait till the 9th of April.
