Here's the reply:
Hi Doug.

We’re working on the Xbox update. It includes everything we’ve released on the PC in the last year, except for the new achievements. Microsoft doesn’t support having more than 100 achievements per title, and the Orange Box is at that limit already. On the bright side, you’ll be getting a bunch of new maps, game modes, weapons, and miscellaneous features.

I'm going to reply back and ask if he can provide us with a rough date.

First I want to thank you for your time and quick reply. I do, however, have a couple of quick questions. You already confirmed that we will be getting new content, but I want to know If you'll be fixing the various bugs and glitches in the game. My second question is: Could you give us a rough estimate on when the new content will be released?

Well that was quick. That's a bummer with no achievements, but at least whe're getting something. I wonder what Robin meant by "miscellaneous features".....vote to kick ala Left 4 Dead maybe????

I hope they include vote kick. Maybe the misc. features are just little thing like extra options for server hosts.

And if their are no new achievements are we going about to acquire the new weapons? I guess we'll just get them off the bat when we buy them.

I don't know, that's probably the limit built into the system or they're just strict like that. Not really a big deal in my opinion, most people see the achievements as milestones for the new weapons anyway, so it looks like I was right when I assumed that the content would just be available from the get-go since its pay-to-play. Achievements are fun but they're hardly the biggest additions to the update.

I hope its out within the next month, I'd like to play it sometime before I die. lol. Thanks for sharing the email.

Hm, so that idea of implementing them via ingame achievements won't happen after all..

you should make another email that asked if dedicated server are included and pricing.

I sent the original email on Monday and got the reply today. I think that he checks his email in the morning, cause that's about when I got the reply. It's amazing what proper english can do for your chances of getting a reply.

It limits the hosting MS has to do with every LIVE user in the world. More achievements = more bandwidth = more money spent =

If they let Orange Box get away with it further, that precedent is broken.

As long as we get bug fixes and Goldrush, I'll be a happy camper.
