Purchasing Gifts on eBay / Receiving Gifts from Strangers

You should not accept Steam Gifts from anyone you do not know. Also, you should not purchase Steam Gifts from anywhere - including online stores such as eBay. As the saying goes, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

What is the issue?

• These gifts are often purchased with a stolen Credit Card and may be removed from the account.
• Third parties such as eBay and PayPal may not assist you since no merchandise physically changed hands.

OK, so I've seen Steam Gifts for sale or I've received a Steam Gift from a stranger, who can I contact?

You should do only one of the following:

• Contact VALVe directly - Contacting Steam Support;
• Contact an active Moderator - View Forum Leaders;
• Contact the online store directly, they will remove the auction.

What you should not do:

Details you provide will be acted on promptly so we ask that you please refrain from the following:

• Contacting Steam Support multiple times - Steam Support only needs one report from you to take action;
• Posting on this forum about the matter - may result in others being scammed.
