100% Completion setting

One of the things that I've always wanted to see in Peggle is the option to declare that you are going for 100% completion on a level. Since I play way too much peggle, I've decided to challenge myself by trying to fully clear every level. When doing this, there's nothing more irritating than accidentally hitting the last orange peg and leaving one blue peg untouched while I have several more balls left over.

I have to think it would be pretty easy to set the game to check the 100% clearance flag is raised and to not end the round until all balls are used or all pegs are cleared as opposed to all balls or all orange pegs. Popcap - as a loyal peggler, please update the peggle source with this!

I too play peggle, in fact since way before it's Steam debut. The one thing I have noticed about the casual game market is that not once have my games been shipped with bugged code and they always work, unlike most of my beloved FPS are anymore these days. These casual games are released seemingly bug free and thats it. They don't get updated. I have never seen any updates for any of my Popcap/Bigfish etc games I own personally. I therefore doubt that you will see what you wish happen in any Peggle you already own. This doesn't mean you can't contact the publisher /developer and suggest adding this to the next one. The "casual" market is really big right now and they at least seem to want to keep and expand there customer base.

You make a good point, maddogge. Either way, Popcap should definitely consider it for future games in the peggle series (assuming there will be some), if not for an update to the existing games.

I think that's because they are relatively small and simple games. Any problems should be relatively easy to find during beta testing. Making a modern FPS (or any major game) is a huge and extremely complex undertaking. But what do updates for additional content/features have to do with bug fixes anyway?

You didn't say if you own Peggle Nights, but that was updated with new content just over a month ago.

I think the fact that you need to hit every blue ball before the red ball adds to the challenge. Also adding the 100% setting means that the Cool Clear bonus needs to be removed.

I agree that it adds to the challenge, but it is really irritating when you accidentally bounce off a blue peg and hit the last orange peg when there's one blue peg left and you have 5 balls left.

I would support keeping the option to turn it off and on, so you can keep the challenge but avoid the irritation. Maybe offer someone who clears it the old fashioned way more points or a better trophy or something.
