Yep, I got this too. I'm torn about letting it install.

False positive, I'd guess. Using Avira too and I got it.

I was about to post the same thing.
Just set to ignore and tick the "note action" box. |

I'm shouldn't have to disable my anti-virus program every time I want to play a game.

I'm using nod32 and I'm getting no such troubles so it's most likely just a false positive.

I only have Quarantine, Delete, Rename, Deny Access and Ignore as options. Ignore works fine but Avira stops the game from running again and pops ANOTHER warning. And does that ad infinitum, it seems. e: Okay got it added to the Exception list (Configure -> [x] Expert mode -> Guard -> Scan -> Exception) and solved it that way Last edited by Akiha : 04-21-2009 at 11:19 AM. |

Same problem. This must be Avira's bug. Devs or Valve must contact with Avira and say them this is a false positive.

I am running fully updated Norton Anti-Virus right now, got the game installed and am playing, no problems, no alerts, nothing. It is obviously a false positive, a somewhat common problem among free anti-virus programs.
If you don't want to deal with it, buy some real anti-virus. |
