The Official Zeno Clash Bugs thread

We're creating this thread so people can report any issues they find with the game.

You can also write to support@aceteam.cl and send crash dumps (.mdmp file) in case of a crash.
Crash dumps are found in the following directory: steam/steamapps/common/zenoclash/

Crashes:

Very, very rare: I've seen an NPC run around with 1 fish gun and the other is lying on the ground. If this happens and you pick up the 1 fish gun an error may occur.

Non-Progression Bugs:

***Fix for these type of bugs: Load your last save game. If that doesn't work: Restart the level (new game).

Very rare, but a ragdolled enemy may be left lying on the ground beneath an object and never stand up again (because he is being blocked by something). Since levels need enemies to be cleared to progress this will stop the game from advancing.

Regular Bugs:

The red targeting arrow (that appears over characters and pickable items) can sometimes appear in the middle of the level (but there is nothing there). Just ignore it. The objective arrow is different.

Extra:

Avira Antivirus seems to detect a Trojan in the ZenoClash.exe. We don't know why and have scanned our systems with NOD and AVG and they don't detect anything. It is a false positive.

wow these bugs are quite bad for a newly released game.

uh..i have a wierd problem, the game doesn't run

it runs, but after it says ACE

it loads the main screen but doesn't produce the image.

i'm running

windows xp x64~ GTX 295 6GB DDR3 G.Skill 1600 RAM i7 920 quad core

any suggestions? everything else runs fine...

These first ones are mostly rare. None of these have been reported right now... the only frequent one may be the changing shadow resolution. The game is very stable and non of the press reported any of these when playing their builds.

Get the same, plus the icon for the game has disappeared off my games list.

A friend asked me to post this:

I'm running everything on the highest possible settings in-game (at a resolution of 1920x1200).

I'm running Windows Vista x64 with everything being up-to-date (this includes DirectX Match 2009).

I got the Ati driver 9.4 and I have a Ati Radeon HD4870x2.

Anti-Aliasing: Use application settings
Anisotropic Filtering: Use application settings
Catalyst A.I.: Advanced
Mipmap Detail Level: High Quality
Wait for vertical refresh: Off, unless application specifies
Adaptive Anti-Aliasing: Quality
OpenGL Triple buffering: Enabled

Besides that I notice a lot of minor things are missing:
- When I create a shortcut to desktop, it gets the Steam icon, not the Zeno Clash icon
- Icon is missing from games list
- When Steam finished downloading Zeno Clash it just popped up (right bottom): "Steam finished downloading" without any mentioning of a game or icon like it normally does

i usually validate/defrag before i run any game and it did that...

i dunno if Gingermadman did, but i did.

Not sure if it's going to happen often, but I got a crash about 15 seconds after first picking up the fish pistols (just looking around)
I can send in one of those crash dump files, if it will help.

Already tried validating, no luck.

No icon really sucks.



Although the entire game locking up is a bit worse.

Gingermadman: You had a conflict with the antivirus and the game, right? (Saw your post on another thread)...

I don't own a virus scan...i just restore every month.

I checked windows live virus scan just now and it's clean with the exception of 10 registry errors...

cleared them, restarted, same issue.

hm, i was thinking it's because i use wide screen with an HDMI input but i don't think that would really do it.

EDIT: well, I'm not doing anything today...

i think i'll just back up zeno clash, restore my computer.

then run it...

if it works i'll let you all know.

be back in 30-45 minutes.

I did have a conflict with antivirus, and do every 5 seconds or so, but I just choose ignore so it shouldn't of got rid of the icon.

I believe you should have a .mdmp file in your steam/steamapps/common/zenoclash/ directory if the game crashed. Can you send that file to support@aceteam.cl please?
