Option to block people from contacting you from going to their Community Page. Option to block someone when you remove them from your friends list. Option to look at blocked people via "My Control Panel". Blocked Community members are unable to contact you in any way shape or form including comments. People shouldn't have to use the privacy options to block comments from people. I should be allowed to block them and have them be blocked indefinitely on all aspects of the community. Fixing the disconnected from internet on routers with small connection limits when refreshing steam browser. Allow us to save our filters in server browser so those of us who have inadequate routers do not get disconnected when bringing up the server browser window.

Knowing AciD, this will become a FAQ in a short while. :P
Nah, it's a good list. Good job. |

Small notepad in overlay *Associated with the game currently being played and stored in it's folder* not just one notepad for all (98 games info on 1 notepad would suck)
Being able to highlight text in the notepad and copy or send to console would be awesome. Last edited by >X<: 05-02-2009 at 06:45 PM. |

Here's my suggestion. That before anyone can post to the "Suggestions/Ideas" forum a popup appears that states the following:
"Before you make your crazy suggestion please remember that Steam is a program that runs in the background while you are trying to play your game. We at Valve thought it would be a wonderful idea to create a program that uses up your computer's valuable resources at the same time that you want to use them to (a) increase your resolution (b) increase texture detail (c) increase those snazzy death animations; or (d) all of the above. So please remember that every time a new Steam feature is added that means that a bit more computing power will be needed to keep Steam and all those clever little features you thought up running and a bit less computing power will be available for your game." |

Wow(!), that's like the ultimate suggestion list of suggestion lists. I'm not even going to bother articulating my thoughts and just say yes to everything you mentioned. They're all great additions, and hopefully Steam will get around to using some of them.
+rep, not like you need any more of it. |

Thank you for that reference Mangr0v3. It means that I am just as entitled as anyone else to post MY suggestion which is what I did.

Just imagine if no improvements were made that required more pc grunt, we would be dicussing the possible improvements to pong on the commodore 64... or worse... argh I hate the people that refuse to look 24 hours into the future. When I first used steam it used hardly any ram, now it uses 20 to 40 meg (personal observations), but I had 256 meg of ram when I started using steam and now I have 8 gig. By the time these features are added I will probably have 16 or 32 gig of ram. |

Mangr0v3, I added some of your suggestions to main list, some things like bandwidth monitor are already fixed and waiting for a release. Would you mind explaining what is wrong with defragmenting files via Steam? It uses both methods since July 2008.

but very inefficiently. Steam's GCF defragmenter barely makes a difference. HLLib's GCF defragmenter fully defrags it internally.
