Rip Sony Online Enterainment

It was fun while it lasted, and i so was looking forward to what they would do with Everquest Next.

Oh well, i suspect a lot of people will "take a break" from videogame development quite soon, and a flood of iOS nickel & Dime paymodels, as well as leaving the "we do not believe in p2w" mentality in the dust.

Edit:

RadarX Forum Post about it:

Um...This doesn't mean the death of those games, just a shift in what they'll be developed for.

Sigh, first they get hacked, now they sell their business...

I knew I should have never remade my account on there.

I don't think it'll make much of a difference. H1Z1 is already doing really well and Everquest Next is gonna be a hit.

Investment Firms aren't exactly the best thing to be bought up by. They won't hesitate to restructure an entire company if they feel it will bring more profit. To believe nothing will change is fairly naive.

I don't really care either way. SoE hasn't made anything significant since Everquest. Most of their online games were and are complete garbage. Star Wars Galaxies and Planetside had potential but they ruined them like everything else they touch. It doesn't surprise me they were sold off.

People are worried if SOE will continue to be allowed to produce bacon or if they will be closed.. or worse, have to create tofu bacon.
