Best Kings Quest?

I, like most people, enjoyed the 6th one the best. I was upset however that they didn't add in the high-res images like they did with the windows CD version. Its almost like I went to a downgrade even though this is coming out years after the original.

I like all the ones with Graham in it. Number 7 was okay in my opinion. It didn't feel like a normal King's Quest though.

So mines King's Quest 6, what are your guys favorites

My personal favourite is Mask of eternity, aka number 8, and it aint on steam yet .

Worst thing is, I actually still have the case, but lost the disk years ago

6 is by far the best, no contest

8 is a travesty, a despicable affront to all things good and pure in the universe

I enjoyed the music in KQ 6 the most. I remember reading that one of the songs was even given radio play back in the day.

KQ5 will always be my favorite because the narrator's death comments are hilarious. Plus Graham's scream whenever he falls off a cliff.

I only played KQ 6 when I was a kid...
So I have no idea, but I do know that 6 is great, I spent hours and hours on it.

I only played the first two on a friends computer, we loved those games. We never had a manual, so we drew out our own maps to try make sense of the game-world, it was magical stuff.

I remember having to wait for the screen to draw itself, and also something about a batmobile in a cave???

I only played 1, 2 and 3 and am still working on 4. I played (more specifically, watched someone play) KQ6 a long long time ago and it was indeed quite awesome.

Of the 4 I actually played, I must say I enjoyed #2 the most so far. #1 was pretty crappy (the text parser was at its worst), #2 wasn't really hard but it was also a bit challenging. #3 was just too hard, what with the 1 hour time limit or whatever and other strange things. #4 so far is pretty good, though I messed up at the very beginning and ended up getting stuck on an island in the middle of nowhere, doomed to die

Ugh.

So you're saying you don't actually like King's Quest, then? Because that abomination should never have been called a King's Quest game.

KQ6. Picked it up at Sam's Club when it was brand new, because I liked the box art and Dad was feeling generous. He hated it. I loved it. Great graphics, memorable scenes (Death in the Catacombs to the Minotaur in the Dark had me laughing for weeks), kickass soundtrack, engaging story. One of the first adventure games I was actually able to play through by myself. Also, the voice acting was AWESOME. Since that was also the first game I played that actually had it. God Bless the CD-ROM.

. I think I was like, eight or something when I got that. It's been awhile~

6 is my fav. It's funny because I actually own three copies of the game. The first is the one I bought when the game first came out, the second I won at a LAN competition at a local fair, and the third I just bought on Steam. All in all, I'd say it's worth it.

Thanks to the work of Jane Jensen, who also made Gabriel Knight, the KQ VI is the best in the series, imo. I once tried KQ V, but it was too ugly, silly and boring. After I got the KQ Collection it's pretty clear to me that I just don't like the work of Roberta Williams. What a waste.
