Red face How can you have InterPlay games and NOT have Carmageddon?!

Carmageddon would be one the best additions to the Steam store. People who haven't played it wouldn't buy it but those who did play it back in the late 90s like me would buy it just to take a trip down ol' memory lane.

It would be a sweet title but Interplay hasn't even released it at the site that shall not be named so something is up. Maybe licensing?

But GoG.com doesn't have it so that means Steam is in the clear if they get it.

You're right. So the company to ask about this would be Square Enix, as they own SCi (Eidos).

God, I LOVED Carmageddon 2.

Though I think its on gog.com. Go look there if you can't find a certain game that's old on steam.

It certainly is not on gog.

I keep asking them for it, but, alas, nothing yet.

It's entirely up to Stainless Games whether or not they get released on Steam. Stainless recently acquired the license to the series they created.

The creators of Carmageddon said in a recent interview with RPS that they don't want to re-release and charge for the games. They said they like that the fan community has embraced them over the years and thus they would feel bad charging for them. They basically said just to torrent them if you want them.

Still, I think it would be cool if they would release them on steam anyway. They'd probably sell a bucketload and it'd be free advertising for their upcoming sequel. But it's totally up to the developers. Interplay no longer owns the rights at all.
