Updates?

I have this game on disc and even though my machine can play Crysis, sacrifice is a bit slow and I have a weird issue with a flickering cursor. I'm just wondering did valve bothered modifying the code at all to support xp/vista? I doubt they had the source code but it's worth asking.

This is what I was afraid of. I have the original CD and it's having a problem with recognizing the size of pagefile. I had to get a patch to fix it while ago but that's running with WinXP sp2. The flickering cursor sounds like you have forced hardware mouse cursor or it's something else. Make sure you don't have SLI/Crossfire active. Also this game was developed before Multi-Processor so it's probably having issue with addressing threads.

Steam version should already be patched to latest, if you have a cd from waay back then go to interplay's website, go support up top then technical support, choose sacrifice game in the list, then scroll all the way to bottom of the page and the latest patch is there, it's says patch 1 but it's actually patch 3.

Heh Windows XP was released during the life of Sacrifice patches. It works fine on my Windows 7 machine as well.

Don't go looking for patches, Steam has supplied you with the latest patch* already. Try patching your graphics drivers though.

If the game doesn't work on your system I suggest you ask for a refund.

which matches the version on Steam

The nVidia drivers released in January 2011 seemed to have provided a method to fix this problem!

Hate to toot my own horn, but I'm going to post this in all the relevant threads: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1327737
