Steam Client Beta Available

There's a new Steam Beta client available. To access the Beta, go to File -> Settings. On the Account tab press the Change... button to open the Beta Participation dialog. Then Select Steam Client Beta, and allow Steam to restart itself. Here are the specific changes:

- Fixed "Incomplete Installation" error for Bionic Commando and Terminator Salvation

- Even more Steamworks fixes

9/17/2009

- Updated steam ticket expiration logic. Please report any anomalies with saved passwords

9/21/2009

- Fixed the confirm password UI for café users
- Fixed login issues for accounts with upper case characters in the account name

- Fixed changing game language or validating game files not working for some games until restarting Steam

9/24/2009

- More Steamworks fixes

9/25/2009

- Improved support for displaying third-party DLC CD keys
- Fixed mouse wheel scrolling in the store when intellipoint is installed

Either I'm misunderstanding what this is supposed to do or it isn't working. I'm still getting UAC prompts when launching Bionic Commando.

Out of the thread question: are every one having problems receiving mails from steam? Just bought SF4 and didn't receive confirmation email. It was always lightning fast and now 30 minutes and nothing. Also confirmation email from steam support after making new account isn't coming.

Edit: Just got my e-mails. I guess with much more mail traffic(e-mail verification and codes) patience will be virtue ... maybe in couple weeks all will be normal.

please fix steam server history not working!

in steam serverbrowser.vdf server ip is written backwards , ex. should be 1.2.3.4:27015 but there is 4.3.2.1:27015 ?!

What about "upgrading" your Steam update system to something Google Chrome alike?

Their updates are really small and the updating process is very fast.

Fade out animation on window closing is very glitchy when you close Steam with "Games" tab being active. The animation is smooth when you close the window with "Store" or "Community" tab being active.

If you add non-steam game. Choose it's icon and name. Restart Steam and name and icon you've enetered just dissappear

New Beta is STILL not remembering a removed tick mark for the Gift Column on the games tab. About time this long standing bug was fixed.

The "verify email" button in the settings window doesn't work. It clicks but doesn't do anything and it looks out of place.
