5.1 Speakers don't work properly since new hardware installed
Hi to all,
Recently I purchased a new Corsair HX 620W Modular PSU as my old one died, and I also purchased an Antec 1200 case at the time. Ever since I've installed everything into the new case, and the new PSU, everything seems to be running perfectly, apart from one small problem, my 5.1 Logitech Speakers don't work properly now. While listening to music often an error will come up saying "An Audio Device was disconnected." and I only manage to generate sound from one of the speakers. This is of course all following the new PSU, and although I'm not positive it has to do directly with this, I'm trying to think of what other possible thing it could be. Would doing a fresh reinstall following the installation of a new PSU make any difference? If anyone has had a similar issue and could help me I would really appreciate it. PSU change should be nothing to do with it. Most likely while moving things around you knocked out a cable/made it loose. There was a similar thread, and the guy was swearing all cables were fine, but on another check it turned out to be just that. Could also be that the Sound card is not properly seated and vibrations are knocking things off

I've taken another look inside the case and double checked all the cables, etc. and everything seems to be connected properly and in working order. I'm using the onboard sound from my P5N-D motherboard, I've also tried to reinstall the Realtek drivers several times, no luck.
Interestingly enough even though one speaker usually will work, if I turn "Speaker Fill" off, none of them will work. Any other ideas? Thanks for the help so far. |

Make sure your configured to have 5.1 surround sound when you first plug it in.
I've got a P5Q D, and I made the mistake of configuring my 2.1 speakers to rear in the pop up menu and the sound didn't play properly. Taking it out and putting it back I chose the correct configuration and everything good from there. |
