Multiple accounts. Banned accounts

I would like to see a way to use multiple accounts.

If you could be signed into 2 or more accounts at the same time on the same client and be able to link those accounts.

Example:

The accounts must be friends and have the same email address.

Login to account exampleA File/settings/accounts/associate an account enter account name and password of the account to associate exampleB, games from the associated accounts are listed on the games page.

When games are launched they have the steam ID of the account that owns the game, if your have 2 copies of a game the host account steam id is used unless you have right clicked the game and selected start with account exampleB.

Regardless of the account the game is associated with the friends list remains only that of the host account.

exampleA games: id steam_0:0:1234
CS
CSS
L4D
Gumboy

exampleB games: id steam_0:0:1235
CS banned
TF2
Gmod
Arma2

Combined
CS steam_0:0:1234
CSS steam_0:0:1234
TF2 steam_0:0:1235
Gmod steam_0:0:1235
L4D steam_0:0:1234
Arma2 steam_0:0:1235
Gumboy steam_0:0:1234

This would help those that got highjacked and Banned as well as those that make multiple accounts for security reasons.

Any Highjacker associating an account to his will ultimately end up being disabled when the associated account/s are reported and retrieved.

Anything I missed that may be an issue?

Would you have to log in to an account and then associate the second account every time you want to do that, or you would be associating them permanently?
Hijackers would be able to get all the games banned on both accounts if they'd be permanently associated and they get the info of just 1 account.
On the other hand, if that wouldn't be permanent (meaning each time you decide to associate them, you can, but when you exit Steam the association is canceled), then your second account would be safe.
Aside to that, seems like a very fresh and handy idea.

The association is only temp, otherwise it can compromise security.

Perhaps add security that both accounts email addresses should have been verified for at least 2 weeks or longer.

I don't really know why this would be a useful service? You can log into different accounts on the same computer already. ie If my friend has L4D on his home computers and I want to play against him while visiting and I own the game on my account I can log into my account and play without having to redownload everything. Games which support cloud data will even auto import my settings for me.

If your goal is to catch people who hack games and play from their home computer but keep a personal account for themselves, in theory steam should already be able to figure this out or assign each steam install a tracking number so they can see which accounts are run from which computers. The simultaneous users and the such confuses things. It also kinda goes outside the spirit of what steam is... one account per user.

I would actually prefer if both accounts had to be in good standing.

But what about people that have lots of games and get vacced because they where stupid and not cheats.

A steam account with 100+ games on it that gets vacced, is most likely highjacked.

Anyone with enough money for that many games would buy another account with only vaccable games on it.

Trolls are numerous btw

So I guess in a round about way what your're getting at there needs to be some compassion and commonsense when it comes to the bans. Perhaps some discretion in who gets a suspension vs. auto banning all, or an appeals process that is able to weed out the malicious from the others. I wonder how many bans a day steam actually deals with.
