Windows 7 tweaks/facelifts?
I've been using this awesome OS since early August. But I'm getting tired of the default set of themes. I also downloaded a few by Microsoft, but I got tired of those as well.
My question is, then, have any custom themes been made yet? I couldn't find any on DeviantArt. |

Hmm I also would like some custom themes too, I've been using 7 for the same time as you and the default themes get a bit "samey" :P

Actually, people have already started making themes for Windows 7. It may be unreleased to you, but many people have had early access to it since August.
For instance, here's one: http://windows.leo4all.com/Vs%20Styles.html#previous And another one: http://djabytown.deviantart.com/art/...t-VS-138198863 Must not forget this one for XP fans: http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/inde...for-windows-7/ And here's another one: http://www.joejoe.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=19929 |

Impressive, Ambig! I'm gonna have to check this out. Now I have to figure out how to patch the theme files or if I should be lazy and wait for a VistaGlazz equivalent.
Hi2u! Tw1TcH, it's cool to know that TweakUI works for Win7 already, but Win7 is so damn awesome that I'm not sure if I wanna tweak its actual behavior just yet. Well, maybe I could find a way to go back up a directory (backspace only brings you to the last dir you were in, instead of back up the dir tree, with one minor exception). |

For the 'up one folder', you click on the folder name in the address bar. I don't think there was a keyboard shortcut for it though. |

1) Back up your files (That's what I'm doing right now) 2) Get the UxStyle Core and install the right one for your OS (x64 vs x86) 3) Then, I'm pretty sure you need to restart your PC 4) Download Win 7 Themes and place them in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes 5) Then select the theme through 'Personalize' |
