Ultimate Edition for XBOX 360

So I trolled around for a bit, and cannot seem to find any specific information on the difference between the Ultimate Edition" and the regular one...

Note in the following image that it says "PC Version shown", and I am assuming that means that 2010 is a definitive release for the PC version? or maybe they just recycled screenshots from regular Zeno on PC.

As of yet, all I can glean from the promo material is that there's improvements and some new stuff. Anyone have hard copy on specifics? Texture packs, maybe DLC-like addons, or whatever? Sorry if this has been asked before.

If its only available through arcade its file size will have to be fairly small I believe. The textures and sound will probable take a heavy hit in quality to meet microsofts file size limit. Ultimate edition is most likely just a tag line to make it more appealing to xbots. Maybe they will get a couple new challenge maps or something.

I pre-ordered purchased and finished Zeno Clash on PC. I really enjoyed it. If there is more story to be had I really hope it makes its way to the PC as an update of some type.

Well, the picture from the announcement e-mail that you posted mentions a pretty big one quite clearly:

Sounds to me like some of the multiplayer that fans have been wanting all this time.

Aside from that, the press release also says that there will be another new mode. Everything else is still vague, but it promises "new content," which will be revealed over time between now and March 2010, which is when they expect the game to be released. Sounds good to me.

Microsoft has officially raised the size limit for XBLA games to 2 gigabytes. Zeno Clash on PC is just a hair over 3, but it has loads of uncompressed WAVE-format audio. I'm sure that Zeno Clash, with careful use of compression, can be squeezed into 2GB, with minimal actually noticeable impact on the sound and graphics.

Please, do we really need to bring the childish console bickering in here? Really, now..."xbots"? Come on, grow up a little.

Anyways, co-op challenges alone sounds like a worthwhile add-on to me, whatever other new content it will have notwithstanding.

Will these updates come to the PC version? Yes or no answer would be nice.

First and foremost, Grats! on the news ACE Team. This ought to bring all of your talents to a wider audience, which I've felt you've deserved since release. Keep up the great work.

An answer to this question would be great, I agree. But half the fun of this gaming universe is the anticipation.

Also, if this is paid DLC, I'm still gonna want it. Badly. It's crazy the amount of work that goes into what most of the community sees as small additions to a game while only a small portion of those same people truly appreciate it for what it's worth once they have it in their hands(read: steamapps folder). Co-op tower challenges are complete winsauce and it's really what I've been hoping for since day one. That it's being implemented into a console version of ZC tells me that it's quite possible that we'll eventually get it in our Steam versions.

Also, if you try really, really hard, you can get multiplayer in ZC right now. It's...interesting, but can be done.

I'm wondering this as well. Co-op tower challenges don't interest me much at the moment, but I'm very curious about the other new modes, features, and content potentially coming to the PC version.

Agreed, I am proud the PC can be a starting point for indie developers to build capital toward a more mass market release on consoles later.

That said, they really need to acknowledge their core fan base on PC... hopefully they will patch these improvements into the PC version, and perhaps turn down the "definitive edition" hyperbole in those ads.

The answer should be yes, but after the release of the XBLA build... some time after. The 'Ultimate Edition' will be exclusive for the XBLA for a while.

Dissapointing, frankly. The only reason to do that is to try and get people to buy both, which is just silly. I can promise you I will never buy the game a second time, so why withold the content from me?

Most likely what happened was Microsoft wanted (read as:strong-armed) them to sign an exclusivity deal in order to allow the game on XBLA. The new content is coming eventually, so they're not "withholding" it forever.

You're not the only one who is going to have to wait it out. I don't have an XBox (nor do I want one), so I'm going to have to wait for whenever the contract runs out and the updates come to PC.

Well, it's nice to see that the content is eventually going to come to the PC and that you guys are growing as a company.
Good luck on the XBox release!!

Thanks for answering. I'm okay with waiting a few months if the content will come to the Steam version eventually. I'll still buy this on my Xbox 360 when its out, my friend would love this game and I want to play online coop with him too.

I hope Zeno Clash is a big hit on XBLA!

Added content is actually one of the stipulations Microsoft has for bringing an existing title to XBLA. That doesn't mean that it's anything more than a timed exclusive though which is what more and more developers are doing these days. (the extra content goes elsewhere usually around 6 months later)

This is fantastic news. I have been begging my console-only friends to purchase Zeno Clash on Steam and now their excuses of lacking the hardware is irrelevant.

I will be re-purchasing Zeno Clash on XBLA as I plan to further support Ace Team and have felt from minute 01 that Zeno Clash would work very well with a controller.

I can't help but wonder how Atlus came into the picture. Atlus is, by far, one of my favorite publishers and this does seem like a perfect fit. (knowing the kinds of games Atlus publishes)

Can you shed any light onto how that decision came about? Did they come to you or you to them or is it all still very hush-hush and way too early for me to ask?

Well i can see now a hypothetical Zeno Clash 2 releasing first on Xbox and going to PC half a year later like everyone is doing now. Hope not.
