This game is WAY too easy.

My guess is VALVe decided to dumb this game down enough to appeal their audience of usually-stupid FPS gamers. This was barely a stimulating puzzle game. Every puzzle was solved within seconds. I would NOT suggest this game to any true puzzle fan.

Awesome. You solved every puzzle within seconds. I guess that makes the game way to easy for everyone, especially to us "usually-stupid FPS gamers."

Maybe you should try some user made mods? And have you done all the challenges?

Considering many challenges have segments that have you back track, I believe this man is exaggerating and trying to get attention. If you're as epic at this game as you believe, record it and upload it to youtube so we can bow to the excellence. Otherwise, kinda hard to care what you believe when not even a single compelling point is made.

Don't like it? Tough. You paid your money and you get the same game that we all did.

I know what the OP's post really says:

Quote:
I didn't get to shoot at anything and there was no health bar and shotgun Waaaaaaaah!
Or maybe,

That gurdan friman guy won over mah MARIO!? tehell? I knows I'll post a troll post!

I wasn't expect a shooter. I was expecting an engaging puzzle game. And this was not engaging nor mind-stimulating. It fails massively as a puzzle game.

Solve does not mean complete. Means know how to do it, but sometimes had to refine the platforming technique. But easy to SOLVE

This game fails as RPG!

Seriously, I wouldn't really call Portal for a puzzle game.

I think you are mistaken. You must be playing some other game. Explain to me what you did that was so amazingly fast and quick on the uptake, to complete the game in no time? Show us proof please? Otherwise you're just spouting crap from your big mouth.

What makes us stupid? Online teamwork? Hand-eye coordination? Ability to shoot the enemy? We're not stupid. We play puzzle games just like you, we play other genres, but because we like to chill out for a bit and shoot eachother, that makes us stupid?

I wonder if OP played it only as a puzzle game and ignored the humor in it. Yes, the puzzles are simple, but they're also fun--and GLaDOS is funny.

One would only understand the Black Mesa references--of which there aren't many--if one had been involved in the HL universe for long enough to understand the connection (I didn't really get it the first time I played).

---
When I bought tOB at GameStop, the employee was enthusiastic about how much fun Portal was. I actually didn't care, because I bought it for HL. But then I played Portal and he was right--it is fun. If someone told OP it was a challenging puzzle game, they were wrong (though some of them are challenging enough for impatient people like me). If someone told OP it was a fun game, maybe he misinterpreted what they meant.

Well gorpie you also have to remember there are people who will simply whine about *anything*. You can tell them "have fun!" and they'll say "but x and y aren't fun!" and x and y are the things the game was meant to do. They'll play with whatever standards they've got in their mind no matter what, and therefore if a game can't or won't meet them, it's "stupid and bad and simple" or something like that. I've seen it plenty of places, not just here.

Well, I'll have to bow to your experience Zekiran, since this is the only forum I've "belonged" to (how'd that happen, I just came with one question? ). All the other ones I've been to I got my question answered and left...

Actually, solve *does* mean to complete. Almost anyone can walk into a test chamber and go "I need to put a cube on the button(s)", or "I need to get an energy orb into that receptor" within a few seconds. The puzzle is in figuring out how to do it. FAIL

And, as Slayer suggested, try the challenges or user mods.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if others scratch their heads over it (for example, I have no desire to play TF2). But you didn't come on here and essentially flame anyone who *does* like it.
